2 months!

Our Miss Ella Jade is 2 months old and at the doctor's yesterday she weighed in at 11 lbs 13 oz and was 23 inches long. She is growing like crazy since her 8 lb, 19 1/2" debut.  She is getting into a routine and we are getting to know her better and overall things are great.  She showed off her first smile back on September 30th and I have been trying to get a picture of it since.  She smiles just when she hears me now so I'm just loving it.  There is a reason that smiling is one of the first things babies do, because after those hard weeks, a rewarding smile makes your heart just melt. She is also starting to do little mini pushups and looking up all over the place when she's on her belly.  It always amazes me how quickly they grow and how strong they become in such a short time.
SO Big!

An almost smile

Around here we are also almost ready for Halloween. Truthfully Halloween is my least favorite holiday.  I have some great memories of going out trick or treating with my cousins and brothers and dad and uncle, but I don't know if it is because we never had money for "cool" costumes or what, but I just don't look forward to it.  I'm definitely putting forth an effort for the girls though.  We are going with a zoo theme around here, because lets face it...it really is a zoo around here and Avrie chose to be a Tiger and Quinn is a Doggie.  I have a zebra hat for Ella and I am going to be a black cat and Rob is going to be the "zoo keeper"...I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post.  Another thing Avrie wanted to do was make a sign like Gramma has to wish everyone a Happy Hoell-o-ween.  We got a fun gord and Rob bought me some beautiful purple mums and we created a little display...and then the groundhog that lives under our front deck decided to snack on the corn stalks and Avrie's gord...but here is what it looked like when we first set it up:

Ella wasn't so happy to be in the wagon, but they are cutie pies anyway :)
